- Escom paid $12million for a dead company who was making absolutely
- nothing. They got all the technology, blueprints, patents,
- trademarks, copyrights, and piles of assembled machines and
- parts scattered across six continents.
-
- VIScorp (not VISICORP) is allegedly paying $40million for
- a fully functioning company, Amiga Technologies. With 40-50
- people working in Germany. Who are making computers, producing
- computers, and shipping computers. Who are also designing next
- generation computers.
-
- The work of setting up a new Amiga company from the ashes of
- Commodore has already been done. By Escom. It took them about
- a year. Shirley that's worth a lot more than what was left
- out of Commodore's ashes. VIScorp can just step in and own
- a fully functioning Amiga-making company. Why would they
- even WANT the Commodore name and trademarks? Commodore's
- considered a joke in the US computer market, unlike in
- Europe where Escom still wants to us the name on their
- PeeCees.
-
- Now my question is where did VIScorp scrape up $40million
- but that's probably a tale to be told another time.
